Rice

In Africa and other impoverished regions of the world, rice is the most critical source of carbohydrates and energy in the daily diet.

However, due to agricultural drought, water scarcity, and high market prices, poor families are struggling to bring even a single kilogram of basic foodstuffs into their homes. For children who haven’t had a pot of food on the stove for days and are clinging to life with nothing but muddy water or boiled plant roots, a sack of rice is a lifeline. As the Paye Humanitarian Aid Association, we personally deliver sacks of long-lasting rice—sourced directly from local wholesalers—to the most vulnerable households living in rural villages and shantytowns.

How Do We Work? (Procurement and Distribution Process)

Identifying Priority Households: Widowed mothers, the elderly, orphanages, and families with many children are identified by our local field staff.

High-Quality and Fresh Supplies: Bags of rice that are suitable for local conditions, highly nutritious, and can be stored for long periods without spoiling are sourced from reliable local wholesalers.

Delivery: Donations are delivered to designated distribution areas or directly to the doorsteps of elderly individuals who are unable to walk.

Relief That Lasts for Weeks: The sacks of rice delivered ensure that a large family can enjoy regular, filling meals for weeks without going hungry.

Registration and Updates: Moments of distribution, along with joyful photos and videos of beneficiaries receiving aid, are archived and shared with our donors.
