By providing needy families with productive resources such as dairy goats and milking cows, we help free them from constant dependence on aid and open the door for them to earn their own livelihood.

The most valuable and lasting aspect of humanitarian aid is empowering individuals to sustain their own lives without relying on the support of others. Particularly in rural areas and African villages, widowed mothers, households with disabled members, and families unable to find employment lack a steady income.

As the Paye Humanitarian Aid Association, we provide families with livestock capital—such as dairy goats and milking cows—using pooled donations collected through the Income Generation Support Fund. Through this initiative, families are able to meet their children’s daily milk and nutritional needs while also generating a steady income for their households by selling milk and offspring.

How Does the Project Work? (Model and Implementation Phases)

Identification of Productive Households: Widowed mothers who are unable to support themselves but have experience in livestock farming and care, as well as large families with orphans, are identified in the field by our local teams.

Supply of Healthy Breeding Stock: Healthy, productive dairy goats and milking cows—suited to the region’s climate and geography and inspected by local veterinarians—are sourced from local markets.

Training and Delivery: After families receive training on basic care, vaccination, and milking, the animals are delivered to their homes against a signed receipt.

Sustainable Cycle: While the fresh milk produced is consumed as part of the family’s daily diet, the surplus is sold at the local market to cover the household’s basic expenses; with each new calf born, the family’s capital grows exponentially every year.

Follow-Up and Transparency: Families are visited at regular intervals; the health of the animals and the family’s income are monitored on-site, and our donors are kept informed through reports and videos.
